Cabin Bookings

Bridge Update:
At this time the 2.1km bridge over the Dore River is officially closed with a load rating of 0 (zero) tonnes. Yet the bridge remains in place and is used as usual by light vehicle traffic. There is nothing to stop you from driving across the bridge, but understand that you do so at your own risk. It is rumoured that this bridge will be replaced some time this summer. If so, there will be a period of time when the bridge is out and access to the trailheads in the area will be affected. Should you choose not to cross the bridge or if/when the bridge is out, shuttle service to and from the trailheads may be available through Robson Valley Adventures (https://jasperhikesandtours.ca).

Eagle Valley Alpine Cabin

The Eagle Valley cabin is located at the toe of an ancient glacier approximately 9km from the trailhead. The trail difficulty is moderate and certain sections can be slippery when wet or icy. Depending on the year the remains of large avalanches may need to be traversed to reach the cabin.

Booking Details:
Bookings can be made, starting May 1 for summer bookings and October 1 for winter bookings.

The Ozalenka Alpine Club (OAC) acts in good faith in maintaining trails and cabins and coordinating cabin usage. But the OAC can not be liable for factors beyond our control – such as loss of access to the trailheads, or weather or snow conditions, etc. As such, the OAC can not guarantee you will be able to complete your trip as planned.

*Note: Any individual or group is permitted only one cabin reservation at a time. Once that booking has passed, they can schedule another booking. Again, this is to give opportunity for cabin use to as many groups as possible.

Cancellation Policy:
Full cancellation policy details are available here.

Unavailable Dates:
On the booking calendar you may notice that some dates are blocked off and unavailable to the public. These are dates used by the Ozalenka Alpine Club, usually by Club members using the cabin while engaged in Club work such as trail or cabin maintenance.

Access: Start on the Dore River Forest Service Road and travel for ~6km to the junction. Take the left fork (South Dore) with signs for Eagle Valley. Follow another 13km to a porky enclosure at the trailhead. From there the trail starts by following a deactivated logging road for the first 3km and then more or less follows the creek for another 6km to the cabin.

Cabin: A two story alpine cabin located at the toe of an ancient glacier provides an ideal home base for summer and winter adventures. The cabin is well stocked with useful amenities like:

  • A two burner propane stove
  • Cooking pots, pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, etc.
  • Sleeping pads
  • Solar lighting
  • Wood stove with firewood
